The Law Doctor

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Benjamin C. Rosenberg is a first-generation American son of immigrants who fled Europe after World War II. I am a proud graduate of Brooklyn Talmudical Academy, Brooklyn College and Brooklyn Law School (the “Brooklyn Hat-trick”).

Those are the basics. They don’t tell the whole story. I graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Brooklyn College in 1985 and worked at a Wall Street investment research firm for a few years. Following that, I attended Brooklyn Law School, graduating in 1990 with a thorough grounding in all it takes to succeed at practicing law in the State of New York.

From 1990 through 1993, I was an associate at Fennell & Minkoff, a commercial litigation firm which
specialized in Federal Court cases. I can tell you that three years there was equivalent to six or more
years of experience at the “big firms.”

At some point in 1993, I got the idea to go out on my own and provide service to regular people, rather than large corporations. My wife thought it was crazy, but I went ahead in November 1993 and started my own firm – taking on cases in many areas of law. I’ve been at it ever since: BANKRUPTCY, REAL ESTATE, MEDICAL MALPRACTICE, PERSONAL INJURY, CIVIL RIGHTS, UNCONTESTED DIVORCE CUSTODY/VISITATION. You name it, I’ve probably done it.

My clients have come from legal service plans, word-of mouth and I still get calls from people who heard the LawDoctor radio ads a few years ago (apparently they wrote my number down for safekeeping). What my clients share in common is they are hard-working individuals who run into contact with the legal system and want straight talk. Since I love to talk to people (it drove my kids crazy at the supermarket), this was right up my alley.

So, call me if you need a Legal Diagnosis. You can be sure that the conversation will go beyond the issue at hand – both because I’m interested and because you never know what relevant information can be obtained through a real discussion.
